Very deceptive from the outside so didn't think I'd be in there very long. Once inside I found out the museum was over 3 floors and very long in depth. Spent an hour and a half looking at life in and around Dartmoor since the bronze age. A very informative museum and plenty of activities for children. Well worth the 4 entry fee which allows you to revisit free of charge for 12 months. There is also a very reasonably priced gift shop. Will definitely be going back.
An interesting museum charting the history of the area over three floors. Not the most interactive and similar collections to many a county museum but pleasant nevertheless.
Great museum of local history. Very friendly staff and loads of things to keep children interested too. Well worth a visit - easily spend a couple of hours taking it all in.
Wonderful museum full of interest and ideal for families.
Very enjoyable. The two staff members were a delight and we enjoyed their assistance, as well as conversation with a sense of humour. The little gift shop is worth visiting, with plenty of choice from their stock of books and keepsakes. The museum is on three levels and there is so much of interest relating to the past. Each of our party enjoyed the experience, taking with us a taste of the local area and hard lives that were lived by residents.
