What a surprise... its as though we happened into a friends lounge complete with a giant fire and warm conversation. Such a lovely feeling of community! Due to unforeseen circumstances the the local community have banded together and volunteered their free time to keep the pub open and running; despite no food being available I was delightedly uplifted after visiting this pub.
I didn't know this place existed. Nice warm fire, and friendly welcome from the staff, but a bit too old fashioned for my liking.
We found this wonderful pub by accident one day in May this year. A friend came over from Australia and we thought it would be a perfect place to take her for lunch as it is such a wonderfully old English pub - the kind you just don't find anywhere else. We had the fish of the day - it was truly excellent. Great fun and friendly staff and welcoming locals - a real treat - thank you!
Very welcoming of our nervous dog, who kept herself out of the way. Small unassuming place, and the owners are friendly. Good food, with a reasonable selection, and looks to be freshly cooked.
Tiny pub middle of nowhere.I read a review that here they served the best roast dinner you could get.Making a point of having a roast dinner every Sunday I went to investigate. Iv tried lots of places.It was indeed the best roast dinner I have ever had.I returned with my father when he visit. He too said it was the best roast dinner he had ever had.So if you want the best roast dinner money can buy I guess you should go here.Prices are v reasonable. Open fire. Great ale. Awsome photographs on the wall.Takes me hour and 20 minutes to get there but well worth it.
