I stumbled across this place on the way back from Dartmoor. Everywhere was closed mid afternoon on Sunday and my gf and I were rather hungry so we stopped here. It's a big place where you order at the counter and they bring your order to you. Quality of food and coffee is actually very good and good value. Much better than the usual coffee chains you see everywhere. Plenty of parking too. It's a relaxed atmosphere. There is also a leaflet stand for all the sights and activities you may want to do. Staff are really friendly here.
Spotlessly clean toilets. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had sandwiches which had plenty of filling and choice and last but not least coffee was excellent! I other comment teabag not as good as Tetley! Enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant with the furniture and fittings as that of a country farmhouse.
Terrific breakfast had their Dartmoor version and it was very good. It was a surprise to have a whole tomato cooked right through. Nice coffee and excellent service. I will call in again.
Quick ordering at counter with everything made fresh. Quick access off the main road. Modern yet charming surroundings. A good place to take a break and escape the rush of the highway. Writing this at our table at the Hog and Hedge. Good name, too.
Just stopped for a loo break here but wish we had been here for lunch. Got a lovely coffee and a beautiful pack of clotted cream and strawberry biscuits. The kids lunch boxes are gorgeous in little ladybird boxes and the cakes and sandwiches look amazing. Will stop here for lunch next time.
